at your doorstep

the oldest door in stockholm
mister Michael. he was the one who led me to the oldest door in stockholm. thank you so much!
on the last day of my journey in stockholm, i had the chance to drift alone in the old city centre. having more time to pay attention to those little details that create the heartwarming atmosphere of this city, i realized the great variety of door designs. this variation seems to be indicative of the multicultural and multilevel history and daily-life of this city.
and once again, it was proved to me that a huge, sincere smile is the only passport to getting to know the real local people and the real city (like Mr. Michael above).

midsommar dröm #1

aris and i spent the midsummer day in stockholm this past weekend. we got really surprised by how beautiful the city is. i love the "port" atmosphere that it has. more pics to come soon.

in the eye

last saturday we traveled to amsterdam and we took the ferry to cross the ij canal ("het ij" sounds like the "eye"). well, it's actually a lake, but it is so linear that can be easily confused... nevermind...
the weather has been so crazy the last few days that you really should be prepared for anything; sun, rain, snow, hazel, with an alternation period of a quarter. just crazy!
however, we managed to get some sunshine and beautiful blue skies while traveling from amsterdam's central station to the old harbor on the north. what were we doing in the northern old port? i'll upload some pics later...
i am lucky enough to be doing a similar ferry route twice a week since last december that i've started my internship in the pop-up city blog, whose offices are based in amsterdam noord. (check it out! i'm sure you'll love it!)
it just makes my day being in the water early in the morning, even if it is only for 3 minutes!

by local to local

JR: Blow Up on Nowness.com.

"i'm gonna reverse the process. i want you to take the photos and i'm gonna print it. and i'll send it back to you, whenever you are in the world, and for free if you can't afford it. but you have to paste it. you went from a project with a global impact to a local project with a local impact, that speaks to the community. and that's because i go out of the equation, it's by local to local."

analog berlin #1

it took me three years but i finally printed some b&w photos i captured during our trip in Berlin. these pics were taken during the street event on May's 1st in the area of kreuzberg. great experience!
i used an old canon a1 with good ol' classic ilford hp5 film.

chasing chicken in flare pants, talking to cats, eating shrimps, feeding shrimps, measuring buildings, teasing mom, teasing dad, teasing aris in blue; delft blue
